Brief
Based on the design, I made for Planbørnefonden’s main website, I was tasked with design and development of their web shop.
The web shop should be able to handle both virtual and physical products. Especially virtual products were important for the organisation. Their clients should be able to by gift certificates in support of Planbørnefonden’s activities or to make donations to specific projects. The gift certificates should be in the form of PDF’s with an image, a short text and name of sender and receiver.
Solutions
It was decided that the web shop was to be build in WordPress like their main site, and Woocommerce should be used for the shop. The functionality and user experience for buying a gift certificate was one of the main focuses of the development. In close collaboration with Planbørnefonden, we developed the user journey and functionality gift certificate. This was done through a series of workshops, that culminated in a wireframe prototype that was used in development of a custom WordPress plugin.
The design system for Planbørnefonden’s website was expanded with the requirements needed for the website and a custom WordPress theme was developed.
